How Enzymes Can Elevate Your Energy and Mental Clarity

My health journey as been one that has traversed a gradual valley where I could not see the forest for the trees. It has also been a journey that has been an awakening for me. I walked out of the valley and have landed on a glorious mountain. Whew! Biblical, right?  Just having fun with you, but seriously, I have gone from very unhealthy to very healthy. By healthy I don’t mean that I’m not eating food I like. As I have mentioned in recent blogs, I have found ways to enjoy eating many things I didn’t use to eat… like what you might ask.

Like Celery!

No way… yes way! Oops, just dated myself. I used to have an intense dislike for these green stalks (which have fantastic health benefits). Over time I have come to enjoy them as a snack with raw almond butter… no, really!

However, I do like to indulge with some pizza here, a hamburger there, and some home cut fries! The trick is, as I have become healthier, my body doesn’t like to eat those things. As someone who always likes to explore new thoughts and perspectives, I found something which has really helped my body digest those naughty meals, and actually any cooked meal.

Enzymes!

I’m experiencing all of that and more. My incredible partner in life, Marie, has finally found a way to get rid of her IBS, and friends of mine have seen it impact their glucose levels (take note anyone with diabetes) and even Lupus! I’m taking enzymes with my cooked meals, and sometimes on an empty stomach.  Here’s why:

Enzymes with cooked foods break down the food and allow our digestive system to work freely and with less effort.

Enzymes on an empty stomach begin to eat away at our blood fats and blood sugars.

There are three kinds of enzymes:

  • Metabolic - run the body, neutralize poisons and carcinogens, and more
  • Digestive - about 2 dozen of these; used to break down the foods we consume
  • Food - found in living, fresh foods, as in raw foods only

The length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of the enzyme potential of an organism

In other words, you don’t want to run out of enzymes, but we do as we get older, especially if we’re eating in unhealthy ways.

You can find cheap enzymes and expensive ones. Do your research and make sure you’re taking ones that are high end and evidence-based to be effective. You will get what you pay for.
